FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government today signed a collective agreement with the Crown counsel group represented by the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada.

The group consists of 49 lawyers working legal and legislative services at the Office of the Attorney General.

“I thank the two negotiating teams for reaching this agreement,” said Treasury Board President Roger Melanson. “This illustrates our commitment to ensuring that the government treats its employees with fairness by respecting the collective bargaining process.”

The contract runs for five years and three months. It includes general economic increases of 4.55 per cent and an adjustment tied to the discontinuance of the retirement allowance benefit.
