BOSTON (GNB) – A New Brunswick business delegation has wrapped up its visit to Seafood Expo North America 2018 where companies from the province’s fish and seafood industry met with buyers from around the world.

“New Brunswick businesses are seeing success thanks to their commitment, their innovation and their willingness to deliver customized products to clients,” said Premier Brian Gallant. “We are pleased to stand with our companies as they work to secure customers and develop partnerships that will strengthen economic trade across North America and around the world.”

The provincial government has made a committed effort to increase exports. Through participation in trade delegations and expositions, New Brunswick companies continue to work to diversify into new markets.

“Securing markets and forming new partnerships helps companies that are providing employment and working to grow their businesses,” said Aquaculture and Fisheries Minister Rick Doucet. “Through initiatives like the Atlantic Fisheries Fund, we are working with our partners to see even more growth through innovation and the development of new products and technologies in the harvesting, aquaculture and processing sectors.”

The presence of New Brunswick companies at international expos and other global activities is part of the government’s strategy to aggressively pursue new markets and facilitate increased export sales to help grow the province’s economy.

The New Brunswick delegation was part of a larger Atlantic pavilion funded in partnership with industry, the Atlantic provinces and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
