BALMORAL (GNB) – The provincial government is selling the former Le Domaine Des Copains school property to the Village of Balmoral. The village intends to use the property for future municipal development.

“Your government is committed to working with municipalities and other stakeholders to ensure that surplus provincial property is put to good use,” said Labour, Employment and Population Growth Minister Gilles LePage. “The sale of this property will generate revenue for the province while providing economic and social benefits to the community.”

LePage spoke on behalf of Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Bill Fraser.

The school property was declared surplus by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in 2012. The school building was removed in 2016 and the property was included on the provincial surplus property list. The village has agreed to purchase the property for $23,200.

The sale and redevelopment of surplus properties can provide economic and social benefits to the community, including revitalization of the area and job creation. The provincial government is committed to providing communities with the tools to facilitate growth and development.
