Overview
Ensuring that water wells are constructed in a manner that does not compromise water quality and the environment is a critical component to providing safe drinking water to the citizens of New Brunswick. For this reason, individuals who operate water well drilling machinery (Water Well Drillers) for Water Well Contractors must obtain a permit each year from this Department.
Eligibility
Water Well Drillers employed by Water Well Contractors.
Description
Water Well Drillers employed by Water Well Contractors are required to obtain a permit on an annual basis (Water Well Regulation (90-79) - Clean Water Act) to carry out construction of wells. Department staff provide permit administration services and regulatory audits.
Permit renewal application forms are sent to contractors/drillers on an annual basis and can be obtained from the Department.
