BAR HARBOR, Maine (CNB) - New Brunswick will host the 33rd Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers (NEG-ECP) in Saint John from Sept. 13-15, 2009. Premier Shawn Graham made the announcement today.

"I am very pleased to invite my fellow premiers and New England governors to come to New Brunswick next September," said Graham. "We last hosted the NEG-ECP conference in 1998, and I look forward to my colleagues being back in our wonderful province to witness our scenic beauty and experience New Brunswickers' legendary hospitality."

NEG-ECP was established in 1973. The conference advances the interests of eleven jurisdictions through co-operation, and encourages collaboration with the private sector. Over the years it has addressed many topics, including the environment, economic development, tourism, energy, fisheries, trade and agriculture.
