FREDERICTON (GNB) – Premier Blaine Higgs issued the following statement in recognition of the 30th Provincial French Pride Week:

New Brunswickers are fortunate to live in a province that is culturally diverse. This diversity is something worth celebrating, now more than ever, as is the important role that francophones play in our past, present and future.

French Pride Week is taking place in our province March 18-22. This year’s theme for the week is Les fenêtres de l’Acadie s’ouvrent sur la francophonie (Acadia serves as a window to the Francophonie).

I invite everyone to join me in honouring New Brunswick’s Acadian and francophone roots, as well as the people who ensure that this important piece of our provincial identity remains strong.
