FREDERICTON (GNB) – The following statement was issued today by Premier Blaine Higgs:

On behalf of the Government of New Brunswick, I congratulate Premier Andrew Furey and the Liberal Party on winning re-election in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Since taking over as the leader of the Liberal Party and premier of Newfoundland and Labrador in August 2020, Premier Furey has effectively utilized his prior experience as a doctor, humanitarian and mental health advocate to face the challenges of COVID-19 head on.

Newfoundland and Labrador and New Brunswick share close ties and have long worked together to strengthen our economies and our regions. I look forward to continuing to work with Premier Furey for the betterment of both our provinces.
