FREDERICTON (GNB) – The following statement was issued today by Premier Blaine Higgs regarding the results of the election in Nova Scotia:

I congratulate premier-designate Tim Houston and his Progressive Conservatives on their majority win in Nova Scotia. I am confident that his professional experience combined with his team’s understanding of the issues facing our region will serve him well as he takes on this new role.

Our provinces share much more than a border. We also have a shared history and culture, and our residents are bound by both family and friendship. That has enabled us to forge a strong working relationship based on an appreciation of the unique challenges facing our region.

I look forward to our provinces working together in the days ahead so we may continue finding ways to make our region an even better place to call home.
