RED DEER, Alta. (GNB) – Three Team New Brunswick short track speed skaters advanced to the final rounds on Sunday Feb. 17 at the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alta.

Tyler MaGee, Angela Xu and Anthony Cormier Losier each advanced to the 500-metre medal round. MaGee also advanced to Monday’s 1500-metre round. The 500-metre medal competition takes place Wednesday.

In wheelchair basketball, Team New Brunswick will play against Team Saskatchewan on Monday. Team Quebec defeated Team New Brunswick 46-39 in Sunday’s opening game.

On Monday, the men’s hockey team (0-2) meets Team Nova Scotia while ringette (0-1) returns to action against host Alberta after Sunday’s practice day.

The men will compete in the artistic gymnastics team event on Monday. On the women’s team, Evie Astle, Amelie Blanton and Alexa Feifer advance to individual all-arounds Tuesday following Sunday’s team event.

Artistic swimming takes place on Monday with duet and team technical routine preliminaries in Calgary.

Biathlon hits the trails Tuesday in the men’s and women’s individual events. Team New Brunswick participated in Sunday’s sprint events.
