BERTRAND (GNB) – The Village Historique Acadien will begin its 39th season on Sunday, June 7.

Open since 1977, the tourist attraction offers a 2.2-kilometre trail with small farms and more than 200 animals.

The village enables visitors to experience the daily life of yesteryear through interpreters who work from some of the 60 or so historic buildings and structures dating from 1770 to 1949.

To support the province’s tourist industry, the village is extending its season by a week. The historical site will be open daily during its regular season from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Sept. 19. It will be open in the fall, from Sept. 20 to 26, offering a week of guided tours with two departures per day, the first at 9:30 a.m. (in French) and the second at 10:30 a.m. (in English).

Visitors can purchase a bracelet, which gives them access for two days of visiting. Also available is a village membership card which provides access to the historical site at any time during the season.

The village invites the public to visit its Facebook page and website for more details.
