PRINCE WILLIAM (GNB) – The annual sugar bush experience will be held at Kings Landing Historical Settlement during the coming two weekends, March 12 and 13, and March 19 and 20, each day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A pancake breakfast will be served each day from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. This fundraising event to support the York Sunbury Ground Search and Rescue has become a fun spring tradition at Kings Landing. The breakfast is $11 per adult and $8 per child.

“This is a major fundraiser for York Sunbury Search and Rescue,” says Chris Wintersgill, public relations for York Sunbury Search and Rescue. “The annual sugar bush fundraiser breakfast at Kings Landing has truly become a tradition for many in New Brunswick. We are looking forward to another great event.”

Kings Landing has activities planned for both weekends, including visits to the village, traditional cooking and life skills in the Kings Head Inn, and even horse-drawn wagons and sleigh rides, weather permitting.

The highlight for many will be the 19th century sugaring demonstration in the village with the sweet taste of maple candy on the snow.

“The sugar bush experience really represents the start of spring for many guests to our village,” said Kevin Cormier, executive director at Kings Landing. “If you are looking for an activity for the family, interested in discovering your own past, or if you just want a reason to get outside, the sugar bush weekends are perfect for all ages.”

Admission fees to the village activities are $12 per family, $7 per adult and $3.50 per child.  Maple candy on the snow will be sold for $2 per stick.
