RICHIBUCTO (CNB) – The names of the recipients of the 2010 Order of New Brunswick were released today as part of New Brunswick Day celebrations. Premier Shawn Graham announced the names.

“We are here today to celebrate New Brunswick Day and to celebrate the individuals who have shown a high level of individual excellence to help better our province.” said Graham.

The recipients:

●    Dawn Arnold,  Moncton;
●    Wayne Brown, Fredericton;
●    Pamela Coates, Saint John;
●    Reuben Cohen, Moncton;
●    Everard Daigle, Grand Falls;
●    Gerard Haché, Saint-Isidore;
●    Gerard Losier, Miramichi;
●    Susan Rickards, Lower Queensbury;
●    Ruth Stanley, Sackville; and
●    Father Zoël Saulnier, Tracadie-Sheila.

“I wish to extend congratulations on behalf of all New Brunswickers,” said Graham. “Each can be very proud of his or her outstanding contributions to our province. These individuals are a shining example to all New Brunswickers that we are capable of achieving great things. That is why I am so confident our province has such a bright future.”

The recipients will receive their Order of New Brunswick at an investiture ceremony at Government House in Fredericton on Oct. 27.

The award honours current or former long-time residents of New Brunswick who have demonstrated a high level of individual excellence and achievement in any field, having made “outstanding contributions to the social, cultural or economic well-being of New Brunswick and its residents.”

Established in December 2000, the Order of New Brunswick is the highest honour bestowed by the Province of New Brunswick.
