MIRAMICHI (GNB) – The provincial government is investing $65,000 in infrastructure and facilities upgrades in French Fort Cove Nature Park.

“Your government is pleased to once again be partnering with the City of Miramichi on an important tourism investment for our region,” said Seniors and Long-Term Care Minister Lisa Harris. “The new zip line at French Fort Cove Nature Park will draw locals and new visitors to our region to experience all that Miramichi has to offer.”

Harris spoke on behalf of Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Bill Fraser, who is also the minister responsible for Northern and Miramichi Funds.

The roughly 300-metre zip line is already having a positive impact on tourism in the park and in the Miramichi region as a whole.

“This zip line is a game changer for Miramichi,” said Miramichi Mayor Adam Lordon. “It builds momentum for continued development of our beautiful French Fort Cove Park, gives our residents and visitors another exciting family activity at their fingertips, and helps us solidify our positioning as Atlantic Canada's Great Outdoors. We thank the provincial government for their partnership in making it possible.”
