CONNORS (GNB) – The provincial government will contribute up to $22,000 to a project to restore the Robert Connors Church through the Built Heritage Program. The restoration project is being carried out by the Pioneers Historical Society of Connors.

“Our government attaches great value to the protection of heritage sites for the people of New Brunswick and for visitors,” said Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Trevor Holder. “This restoration means that the architectural heritage of the Robert Connors Church will be preserved for the long-term and that New Brunswickers will always have access to a unique heritage experience.”

This church is a provincial heritage site recognized for its architectural characteristics representative of the Canadian adaptation of the Gothic style and for its association with Robert Connors, a major wood merchant who contributed significantly to the development of the region through his leadership.
