MIRAMICHI (GNB) – The 2016 New Brunswick Travel Guide was launched today by Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Bill Fraser.

“I am happy to say that this is the earliest the travel guide has ever been published,” said Fraser. “We have already had requests for 8,000 travel guides, which is 2,000 more than we had at this time last year.”

The guide contains information on more than 1,600 products and experiences, and like last year’s guide, it is organized around the five scenic drives: Appalachian Range Route, River Valley Scenic Drive, Acadian Coastal Drive, Miramichi River Route and Fundy Coastal Drive.

For the second year, the department is also making an interactive version of the guide available online in order to facilitate those who prefer to plan online.

In addition, the guide includes 109 Experience Collection products, 11 of which have been accepted by Destination Canada as part of their Signature Experiences Collection.

“I am proud of this year’s travel guide,” said Fraser. “It captures our message that New Brunswick is big enough to deliver world-class tourism and small enough to care. The guide is just one piece of our 2016 marketing efforts.”

In the coming months, the department will be rolling out its full marketing campaigns, investing more than $2.5 million to entice visitors to consider and choose New Brunswick as their vacation destination this summer.
